Settling In to Nursery

Helping your child to settle into the Nursery begins before their first formal day. We reccomend that your child visits the nursery prior to starting, to become familiar with the surroundings and his/her key worker.

The visits allow Mothers, Fathers and Carers to fill in paper work, meet the staff and other Mothers, Fathers and Carers. This is also a time to tell us about your child, likes, dislikes and general routine.

We encourage all new Mothers, Fathers and Carers to allow their child to pay at least three familiarisation visits. These will last around 1 hour each.

We encourage new children to bring a comfort object or familiar toy with them during their visits and sessions at Nursery,as this provides a link from home and can help provide a sense of security. Your child can also bring these to nursery when they start to attend on a regular basis.

Once you feel happy that your child is settled and all of the paper work has been completed, we can arrange the start date for your child.
